YOUR DATA, YOUR CHOICE
Privacy, plainly.
Stature is designed to keep height tracking personal. This page describes how the application is built to handle data.
What Stature stores
A saved measurement contains a user ID, height in centimeters, measurement method, optional camera-estimate confidence score, and creation date. If you sign in with Supabase, those records are stored in your project’s database and protected by row-level security so an authenticated user can access only their own records. In device-only demo mode, records and preferences are saved in this browser’s local storage and do not sync.
Camera and uploaded images
The camera-assisted estimate runs entirely in your browser. A captured frame or selected image is held temporarily in memory using a local browser object URL. The app draws the image on-screen for point marking and does not upload it. Stature does not persist the image to local storage, Supabase, or Stripe. The temporary object URL is released when you start over, leave the camera screen, or close the app.
To estimate height, you mark the bottom and top of a reference with a known size, then the floor and top of the person. A pixel-height ratio is scaled by the reference’s real-world height. Perspective, camera tilt, distance from camera, posture, image cropping, and point placement can materially affect the result. The displayed score is a simple geometry heuristic, not a validated accuracy probability.
Account and payment information
Supabase handles account authentication when you connect your project. Stature does not store your password. Paid checkout is designed to run through Stripe-hosted Checkout; secret keys remain on the server. Card details are handled by Stripe, not by the Stature client. The Stripe integration is inactive in development until you provide server-side credentials.
Your controls
- Delete individual measurement records from Height History.
- Turn off photo-based estimates and require an extra camera confirmation in Settings.
- In device-only mode, clear local site data in your browser to remove locally stored records and preferences.
- For Supabase accounts, use your project’s account/data-management process to request account deletion; configure and publish a project-specific deletion workflow before production launch.
Offline use and this deployment
The installable app caches its offline shell and pages you have visited. Device-only measurements remain in browser storage; authentication, cross-device sync, and payment actions need a network connection. A project operator deploying Stature is responsible for its own privacy notice, retention policy, support contact, and applicable legal obligations.
Not a medical service
Stature is a personal measurement and record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or recommend treatment, and should not be used for clinical decisions.
